REPATRIATION RESOURCES

We are honored to be entrusted with the mission of locating the families of the "unaccounted for" with the United States Marine Corps Casualty Division. Our tasks include locating and making the initial connect with descendants of military members who were lost in past wars, including WWII, the Korean conflict, and Vietnam. Our team provides essential research, directly supporting the repatriation process.
As part of this initiative, you may receive a phone call from our team. We understand that receiving calls from unfamiliar sources can be concerning. Our company, (Venone Public Relations LLC DBA Anchored Genealogy) has been directly contracted by the Marine Corps to conduct this outreach, and we are committed to handling this process with the utmost respect and sensitivity. If you have any questions or need verification of our assignment, please do not hesitate to ask us. Additionally, our federal identifiers are listed at the bottom of this page.
OUR MISSION
IDENTIFY, DETERMINE, AND LOCATE - PRIMARY NEXT OF KIN
Our contracted tasks include determining the living legal primary next of kin (PNOK) and secondary next of kin (SNOK). These are legal designations based on relationship and age. The PNOK will work with the Casualty Officer to determine the family's wishes and final burial details when remains are identified. The Casualty Officer is an official representative from the USMC. They will provide information, resources, and assistance directly to the PNOK.
IDENTIFY, DETERMINE, AND LOCATE - PERSONS ELIGIBLE TO PROVIDE A FAMILY REFERENCE SAMPLE
Additionally, we are responsible for determining who within a family is eligible to provide DNA reference samples to aid in the identification of remains. For more information on the security of DNA reference samples, visit the DPAA website. DNA samples are not collected or administered by our company. DNA tests are managed by the USMC HQ Casualty Division in Quantico, Virginia and the Armed Forces DNA Lab (AFDIL) at the Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.
OUR RESEARCH
During the course of our research analyze vital records, census records, newspapers, and other pieces of evidence to provide details surrounding the Serviceman and their family. As part of our final report to the USMC, we collect family members names, addresses, telephone numbers, and email addresses, so the Casualty Officer can contact family members as they move forward in the process. We will confirm your date of birth and may ask questions about the family history to assist with our research. All information provided is confidential and only provided to the USMC.
